Buddy Magaña Jr. was born and raised on the beautiful island of Caye Caulker, a small Caribbean Island off the coast of Belize. In 2015 he ventured into his family business and took on the management position which he still holds at Buddy’s Golf Cart Rental. Buddy is a Business and Social Entrepreneur supporting sustainable tourism, development and livelihoods

In 2017, Buddy became a member of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) where he was elected to the post of Secretary of the Board of Directors. As he became more involved, he began to learn about culture and heritage protection, which has now become an important part of his life. Growing up five minutes away from the Mesoamerican Reef System and experiencing its breathtaking beauty, Buddy then made it his goal to lend a hand in the conservation and preservation of the exceptional MAR biodiversity heritage.

In 2018, he assumed the champion for Caye Caulker BTIA trainings carrying the title Training Coordinator with the responsibility to organize, with the CCBTIA team, the priority training to industry members of the island. Buddy has completed training in Meso-American Reef Leadership Program, Diploma Course in Sustainable and Social Tourism, Trainer Certificate in Coral Reefs Awareness and Marine recreation in the Mesoamerican Region

On February 16, 2023, Buddy Magana Jr. assumed the position of chairperson of the Belize tourism Industry Association Caye Caulker Chapter and is ready to serve his community with the Caye Caulker BTIA Team.
